The questions service business leaders rarely ask themselves

  The most valuable c o nversations I have with servi c e business founder s are rarely about strategy. They are about questions; they have never stopped long enough to a c tually answer or, in many c ases, even ask.     Running a servi c e business means that there is always something demanding your attention: c lient needs, team issues, delivery problems and business de c isions. The daily pa c e keeps pulling the founder towards immediate matters, quietly pushing aside what is truly important .     In this environment, it is not performan c e that suffers most, but refle c tion. Taking the time to pause and ask, 'What is a c tually happening here, and is it what we want?' is often overlooked.     In my work with c o nsulting firms, agen c ies, and professional servi c e business es, I have found a few questions that leaders almost never ask themselves.
